Plastic Surgeon Central Coast | Dr Peter Laniewski (FRACS), Erina

Dr Peter Laniewski is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon (FRACS, AHPRA MED0001155003) who consults on the Central Coast at Erina, at Dolce Vita Skin, Elizabeth Court, 14/30 Karalta Road, Erina NSW 2250. To book a consultation, call 1300 322 337 or make an online enquiry. The clinic is a short distance from Erina Fair, just off the Central Coast Highway, and Dr Laniewski sees patients from across the Central Coast, from Gosford and Terrigal through to Wyong and The Entrance. Surgery is performed in accredited private hospitals.

Dr Laniewski has over 20 years of surgical training and practice, and consults at five locations across New South Wales. The Erina clinic means Central Coast patients can have their consultations locally rather than travelling to Sydney for every appointment. He offers face, eyelid, skin cancer, breast, body, male and non-surgical treatments, with every surgical plan tailored to the individual patient after a face-to-face consultation.

This is one of five New South Wales locations where Dr Laniewski consults. The others are Bella Vista (Sydney north-west), Woollahra (Sydney Eastern Suburbs), Narellan (Sydney south-west) and Albury.

Consulting days and hours

Dr Laniewski consults at Erina on Wednesdays 09:00-17:00 hrs. Because he divides his time across five locations, Central Coast appointments are scheduled on specific days rather than daily, so we recommend phoning 1300 322 337 well ahead to secure a time that suits you. If you need to be seen sooner than the next available Erina clinic, our team can offer you an appointment at one of the Sydney locations instead.

Contact and bookings

Call 1300 322 337 or complete the online enquiry form to request a consultation or ask a question. Enquiries are answered during business hours. A GP referral is required before a cosmetic surgery consultation, so it is worth arranging that with your GP before you call.

Getting to the Erina clinic

By car

The Erina clinic is just off the Central Coast Highway, close to Erina Fair, and is straightforward to reach from anywhere on the Coast. It is around 8 to 10 minutes from Gosford and Terrigal, 10 to 15 minutes from Avoca Beach, Kincumber, Wamberal and Green Point, 20 to 25 minutes from Woy Woy, Umina Beach and The Entrance, and 30 to 40 minutes from Toukley, Budgewoi and the northern lakes area. From Sydney, take the M1 Pacific Motorway and exit at the Central Coast Highway; the drive is approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes from Sydney’s northern suburbs, traffic dependent. All times are approximate and vary with holiday and peak-hour traffic on the Central Coast Highway.

By train and bus

The nearest railway station is Gosford, on the Central Coast and Newcastle Line, which is roughly a 10 minute taxi or rideshare trip from the clinic. If you prefer public transport the whole way, Erina Fair is one of the Central Coast’s main bus interchanges, with services connecting Gosford station, Terrigal, The Entrance, Wyong and Tuggerah. Buses between Gosford station and Erina Fair run frequently through the day and take under 20 minutes, and the clinic is a short distance from the centre.

Parking

Erina Fair also has extensive free parking a short distance away, with more than 4,500 spaces, for patients who would rather park there.

Where your surgery will be performed

Your consultation takes place at the Erina clinic, but your surgery is performed in an accredited private hospital operating theatre, which may be located outside the Central Coast. We want you to know this clearly and early, because it affects how you plan your surgery and your recovery.

Depending on the procedure, your surgery may be performed at an accredited private hospital on the Central Coast or in Sydney. Dr Laniewski will tell you which hospital applies to your procedure at your first consultation.

For Central Coast patients whose procedure is scheduled in Sydney, this typically means travelling to Sydney on the day of surgery, or the day before for an early start, and arranging a support person to drive you home or to accommodation afterwards. You should not drive yourself after a general anaesthetic. Our team will talk you through the practical arrangements, and our travelling patient information page covers accommodation and travel planning for patients coming from outside Sydney. Post-operative reviews can generally be arranged at the Erina clinic to reduce the number of trips you need to make.

If certainty about the surgery location matters to you, please raise it at your first consultation and ask for it in writing along with your quote.

Why choose Dr Peter Laniewski

Dr Peter Laniewski is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), registered with AHPRA (MED0001155003). In Australia, only a doctor with specialist surgical registration may lawfully use the title “surgeon”, and specialist plastic surgeons complete accredited surgical training that covers both operating and the management of complications. This distinction is worth checking for any practitioner you consult.

  • Qualifications and registration: FRACS; AHPRA registration MED0001155003 (verifiable on the AHPRA public register).
  • Training: undergraduate medicine at the University of New South Wales, followed by advanced training in general surgery and in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr Laniewski completed an international fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, a recognised centre for complex reconstructive surgery, with further study alongside plastic surgeons in London’s Harley Street and at international courses in New York, Germany and France.
  • Professional memberships: Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS)and Board Certified Plastic Surgeons.
  • Experience: over 20 years of surgical training and practice.
  • Reconstructive as well as cosmetic: breast reconstruction, skin cancer reconstruction and hand surgery are part of the practice, not just cosmetic procedures.
  • Regional access: a Central Coast consulting location, so local patients are not travelling to Sydney for every appointment.

You can also read Dr Laniewski’s profile on RealSelf and verify his registration on the AHPRA register.

What to expect at your consultation

Australia regulates cosmetic surgery tightly, and the process is designed to make sure your decision is well informed. Before your first consultation for a cosmetic surgical procedure, you will need a referral from your GP. Your pathway then includes:

  • At least two pre-operative consultations, with at least one in person with Dr Laniewski.
  • A psychological assessment for suitability, including screening for body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). If significant concerns are identified, you will be referred to an independent GP, psychologist or psychiatrist before any surgery.
  • A mandatory 7-day cooling-off period for adults, following your consultations, before surgery can be booked or a deposit paid.
  • For patients under 18, a minimum 3-month cooling-off period and assessment by an independent GP, psychologist or psychiatrist. Cosmetic surgery that is not clinically necessary is generally discouraged for minors.

Because Erina clinics run on set days, it is worth asking our team at your first appointment how your second consultation and your cooling-off period will fit around the Erina schedule, so you can plan realistically. At your consultation, Dr Laniewski will discuss your goals, examine you, explain the realistic options and their risks, and provide written information. All surgery carries risks, and results vary between individuals.

Fees, Medicare and private health insurance

Fees depend on the specific procedure, its complexity and where it is performed, so a fully itemised written quote is provided after your consultation. A typical surgical fee estimate covers the surgeon’s fee, the anaesthetist’s fee, the hospital or theatre fee and post-operative care. If your surgery is scheduled in Sydney, factor in travel and any accommodation costs as well.

A Medicare rebate and a private health insurance contribution may apply when a procedure has a documented medical or functional component. On the Central Coast, this commonly applies to skin cancer excision and reconstruction, breast reduction that meets the relevant criteria, breast reconstruction after cancer, upper eyelid surgery where excess skin affects the field of vision, and hand surgery such as carpal tunnel release. Purely cosmetic procedures do not attract a Medicare rebate or health-fund contribution. Payment and finance options are explained on the payment options page. We do not publish fixed prices, because an accurate figure requires an individual clinical assessment.

Frequently asked questions (Erina and Central Coast)

Where is Dr Laniewski's Central Coast clinic?

Dr Laniewski’s Central Coast clinic is at Dolce Vita Skin, Elizabeth Court, 14/30 Karalta Road, Erina NSW 2250, just off the Central Coast Highway and a short distance from Erina Fair. Call 1300 322 337 to book.

Which days does Dr Laniewski consult at Erina?

Dr Laniewski consults at Erina every Wednesday, from 09:00 to 17:00. Because he consults across five New South Wales locations, Central Coast appointments run on set days rather than daily, so phone 1300 322 337 ahead to book. If you need to be seen sooner, an appointment at a Sydney location may be available.

Will my surgery be performed on the Central Coast or in Sydney?

Your consultation is at Erina, and your surgery is performed in an accredited private hospital operating theatre. Dr Laniewski will confirm the hospital for your procedure at your consultation, and you can ask for it in writing with your quote.

Do I need a GP referral to see Dr Laniewski?

Yes. Since 1 July 2023, a GP referral is required before a consultation for cosmetic surgery in Australia. A referral also allows any applicable Medicare rebate to be assessed for medically indicated procedures such as skin cancer excision or breast reduction. Bring your referral to your first appointment.

How do I get to the clinic without a car?

Gosford station, on the Central Coast and Newcastle Line, is roughly a 10 minute taxi or rideshare trip from the clinic. Erina Fair is also a major Central Coast bus interchange, with frequent services from Gosford station, Terrigal, The Entrance and Wyong taking under 20 minutes from Gosford.

Is there parking at the Erina clinic?

Erina Fair has more than 4,500 free parking spaces a short distance away if you would prefer to park there.

Which suburbs do patients travel from to Erina?

Patients attend from across the Central Coast, including Gosford, Terrigal, Wamberal, Avoca Beach, Kincumber, Green Point, Woy Woy, Umina Beach, The Entrance, Bateau Bay, Ourimbah, Wyong and Toukley, as well as from the Hunter and Lake Macquarie region.

Can I have my consultation at Erina and my follow-up appointments there too?

Yes. Post-operative reviews can generally be scheduled at the Erina clinic so you are not travelling to Sydney for routine follow-ups. Your review schedule will be set out for you before surgery, and appointments are arranged around the Erina clinic days.

Does Medicare cover any of my procedure?

A Medicare rebate may apply where a procedure is medically indicated rather than purely cosmetic. On the Central Coast this commonly includes skin cancer excision and reconstruction, breast reduction meeting the relevant criteria, breast reconstruction after cancer, upper eyelid surgery affecting vision, and hand surgery. Eligibility is assessed at consultation on clinical grounds, and any out-of-pocket cost is set out in your written quote.

How do I book an appointment?

Call 1300 322 337 or complete the online enquiry form on this website. Have your GP referral ready for cosmetic surgery consultations, and mention that you would like to be seen at the Erina clinic.
