How it works
The LED Healite is an LED light therapy that delivers focused light to the skin. This therapy avoids causing damage to the skin while using light to target the body’s cellular recovery. The device can treat multiple areas of the body, thanks to its large adjustable head. Before the LED Healite treatment commences, you will lay down under the LED Healite device for 10 to 20 minutes. The session timing depends on the selected wavelength of light and the areas to be treated. It is recommended that patients complete 9 to 12 treatments, but your recommended number of treatment sessions will be discussed during your consultation. Light can affect our skin, and therefore on a cellular level, the mitochondria are activated. The light then triggers the body’s healing response and creates new fibroblast skin cells, which make collagen, meaning that the effects of the treatment can be long-lasting.
Benefits of LED Healite
A benefit of LED Healite is that it may help to reduce the recovery time for some cosmetic treatments. This procedure can be performed on those who are completing other skin treatments to aid in the healing of the skin post-procedure. If you are looking to combine procedures, the yellow light 830 nm can be used as this calms post-surgery scarring and skin conditions. This treatment can pair well with treatments for skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.
The LED Healite typically allows you to return to your daily routine right after the treatment. Patients can see results in their skin, such as reduced pore sizes, redness, rosacea, fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment is known to stimulate cell regeneration and decrease inflammation in the skin. The LED Healite can kill acne-causing bacteria. The LED Healite increases the body’s production of collagen and elastin due to the treatment targeting the body’s healing process. Patients have found that damaged tissue can be repaired by this treatment, hair growth can be stimulated, and muscle spasms, stiffness and arthritis pain may be relieved.
Who is Eligible for LED Healite
LED Healite is recommended for those who are looking to treat a variety of skin conditions. LED therapy may also aid in the healing process after undergoing other treatments. It can be suitable for all skin types, but you will need to have your suitability for the treatment assessed during a consultation.
LED Healite is not recommended for those with light sensitivity, who suffer from migraines, are pregnant, have epilepsy or are on photo-sensitising medication.
If you are unsure if you’re a suitable candidate for the LED Healite, discuss your skin type and concerns with Dr. Laniewski in your consultation.
Are There Risks to LED Healite?
During LED Healite, some patients have reported feeling a sensation of warmth during the procedure. Warmth can sometimes still be noticeable after the treatment. As for any further possible side effects or risks of the treatment, these will need to be discussed in further detail during your consultation and considering your personal factors.
The Results
Results can be seen up to for six months after the treatment. Many patients have found that having a treatment monthly maintains their results. If the LED Healite is targeting damaged skin, it is recommended that two treatments weekly will help in the recovery process. For skin cleansing and acne, one to two sessions every week for four to six weeks can be sufficient.
Cost of LED Healite
Since each treatment is individualised, there are several factors that come into play when calculating your treatment costs. Each LED Healite treatment is tailored to your skin type, other individual factors and the intensity of light that will be used. In your consultation, Dr. Laniewski will discuss these factors with you to determine the price of the treatment.
