Breast Reduction Photos

Women with large breasts can experience various physical discomforts. These include breast irritation, back pain, shoulder pain, and neck pain. Over time, the resulting discomforts can affect their ability to perform daily activities. Moreover, women with large breast size can also develop emotional problems. To correct this, most patients opt for breast reduction surgery. By removing excess fat, tissue, and skin, it improves your breast appearance. It also treats the health issues associated with a large breast size. Here you can see breast reduction before and after photos of Dr Laniewski patients in Sydney.

Ideal candidates for the surgery

During your initial consultation, we will make sure to check your general health. This allows us to assess your body type and expectations. In general, you are an ideal candidate for the surgery if:

  • You are suffering from physical and emotional discomforts due to your breast size.
  • You don’t have a medical condition that can delay healing.
  • You don’t smoke.
  • You have fully developed breasts.
  • You have good physical and mental health.
  • You have low self-confidence due to the unusual size of your breasts.
  • You have realistic expectations and a positive outlook.
  • Your breast size prevents you from being productive at work and in daily activities.

The breast reduction procedure

For your comfort, you will receive general anaesthesia during the procedure. Our plastic surgeon will cleanse your breast area with an antiseptic to prevent infection. Once your breasts are numb, he will make a cut in the area. The incision technique will depend on your breast size and the surgeon’s preference. To achieve natural results, Dr Laniewski will use incision techniques that reduce scarring. Then he will reshape your breasts by removing excess fat, tissue, and skin.

A procedure called liposuction is usually performed to remove fat from your breasts. It involves inserting a small, thin tube into your incisions. This tube is connected to a powerful vacuum which removes the desired amount of breast fat.

To secure the new size and shape of your breasts, your surgeon will suture the area. This also closes the incisions. After the procedure, Dr Peter Laniewski will cover your wounds with gauze. To reduce swelling, you will need to wear compression garments or elastic bandage. Depending on your condition, you can go home within the day or the next day.
