What is a facial fat transfer?

Facial fat transfer is the process of removing unwanted fat from one part of the body and transferring it to areas of the face where volume has been lost. This technique is highly effective in volumising and shaping the skin around the eyes, jawline and cheeks. It can also be injected into the lips, eyebrows, nose or anywhere else under the skin.

The facial fat grafting procedure is performed through the following steps:

Fat removal: A small amount of excess fat is removed, usually from the buttocks or thighs, through liposuction with a small narrow cannula.

Fat cell isolation: Once removed, the fat cells are separated from any surrounding liquid. Any damaged cells are removed, ensuring that only clean and healthy fat cells are used in the transfer.

Fat injection: Dr Laniewski will then inject the fat into the designated facial areas in order to achieve optimum results for facial rejuvenation.
