Male Body Lift

For men wanting to achieve a naturally toned appearance, a body lift could be the answer. Exercise and diet alone will help you reach weight goals, but won’t necessarily eliminate fat deposits or remove loose skin. It’s natural for skin elasticity to diminish over time, although for some men the deterioration is compounded by outdoor work causing sun damage, dramatic weight fluctuations, or genetic factors. Body lifting will remove excessive fat and skin, resulting in a more sculpted and taught body.

Prior to undergoing a body lift for improved appearance it’s worth taking steps that will reap the best results in the long run. Proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices are half the job done, as maintaining a relatively stable weight is a key factor in reaping the greatest body lift rewards.

WHAT AREAS DOES A BODY LIFT TARGET?

Your entire body is taken into consideration during an initial consultation, but generally speaking, the lower body and upper body are the two areas targeted.

WHAT AREAS DOES A BODY LIFT TARGET?

Your entire body is taken into consideration during an initial consultation, but generally speaking, the lower body and upper body are the two areas targeted.

Lower body lift:

  • Abdomen
  • Hips
  • Waist
  • Back
  • Buttocks
  • Thighs

Upper body lift:

  • Skin Rolls
  • Arms
  • Chest

It’s well known that men are more prone to put on weight around the belly, and this is the most common place to start for body contouring. There is every likelihood that extra fat has also accumulated around the lower back, hips, buttocks and thighs. A lower body lift will target these areas. However, we are all different, and some men accumulate a lot of fatty tissue on the arms and chest, resulting in unwanted ‘man boobs’. Complete body contouring can involve a body lift for any area from head to toe, resulting in a balanced, tapered appearance.

THE CONSULTATION

Dr Laniewski will meet with you in person to discuss your surgery goals and expectations. The consultation process includes a review of any medical history that can affect outcomes. The purpose of the consultation is to help you feel fully informed so you can make the best decisions moving forward. This is the time to reveal any concerns regarding the body lift procedure, and you will also be requested to provide health information including your smoking status, plus use of medications and other drugs that could affect optimum outcomes.

BODY LIFT SURGERY

The operation is performed under general anaesthesia, meaning you will be asleep the whole time. It will take several hours to perform the surgery, and incisions will be made in order to elevate and reposition skin. Underlying muscles may also be tightened as part of the procedure. Drains will be positioned to assist with the removal of fluid accumulation beneath the incisions. Sterile dressings are placed over the incisions and compression garments are worn to assist with the healing process.

The hospital stay will last a couple of days, and your situation monitored. Complications are rare, but there will be some swelling, bruising and pain that is treated with appropriate medication. Although trepidation is natural regarding your hospital stay, any concerns will be greatly minimised by the highly qualified and experienced care provided by Dr Laniewski.

AFTER OPERATION CARE

It’s true that you won’t exactly bound out of hospital and hit the ground running, but within a few short weeks you will be back on track and better than ever. You will require someone to drive you home from hospital, and also need to restrict movement for several weeks during the healing process. Your recovery at home should be comfortable, without any strenuous activity, exercise, or extended stretching.

As swelling subsides, your shape and contour will continue to improve, and the scars will gradually fade over time. After a few weeks you will be able to return to work and begin again to enjoy all the activities that have been hampered by carrying extra body weight for too long. Quality of life, self-esteem and increased energy courtesy of the body lift will give you all the encouragement you need to keep on track for ongoing health and vitality.
