WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE PENIS ENLARGEMENT SURGERY?

Penis enlargement surgery involves undergoing two procedures, which can be performed as a combined surgery or separately at different times that suit the patient. You will be administered a general anaesthetic prior to going into theatre and the penis enlargement surgery normally lasts around four hours.

The first stage of penis enlargement will involve lengthening the penis. Almost half the length of the penis sits inside the body and it is attached internally to the public bone by the suspensory ligament. In order to lengthen the penis, this suspensory ligament will be released and this will allow the penis to protrude further and appear longer while at rest. This is done by cutting the ligaments through an incision made in the mons pubis at the base of the penis. Sometimes if there is insufficient skin to allow for a longer penis addition surgery may be required to achieve more length. This is usually by performing a Z plasty.

The second procedure involves widening the girth of the penis, which will make it thicker. While there are several treatments that can be performed to do this, such as fat graft injections or permanent filler injections, Dr Laniewski prefers to use fat grafting by injections. Fat grafting is associated with fewer complications than permanent filler.

DOES THE PENIS ENLARGEMENT PROCEDURE HURT?

Penis enlargement surgery is not painful for the patient. As you are under general anaesthetic, you are sedated and not conscious so you do not feel any discomfort during the procedure. But, there can be discomfort after surgery.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER PENIS ENLARGMENT SURGERY?

Once you have woken up from the general anaesthetic and completion of phalloplasty surgery, it is normal to feel some pain and tenderness on your body. Patients will be given painkillers to reduce pain and minimise discomfort where it is possible to do so. In addition, the penis can be red and swollen after surgery, which can take several weeks to subside. This should not alert the patient. Full recovery from penis enlargement surgery is around six to eight weeks.

Recovery from lengthening the penis approximately takes six to eight weeks. The second procedure to widen the girth of the penis will also have a similar recovery tim, it will also depend on whether you have these surgeries together or on separate occasions how long you should take off work.

Generally, phalloplasty surgery should not leave you with obvious scars. There is a small wound at the base of the penis where an incision is made for lengthening the penis. But, this is normally covered by body hair and its appearance will fade over time.
