Over the years, the skin on your thighs can sag or appear loose. Aside from ageing, other factors such as major weight loss can also lead to the unsightly appearance of your thighs. To correct this cosmetic concern, a thigh lift is usually recommended. The procedure reshapes your thighs by removing excess skin and fat. This helps achieve a smoother, younger, and better-proportioned appearance of your thighs. Shown below are thigh lift photos of actual patients at Dr Laniewski clinic in Sydney.

Suitable candidates
During your initial consultation, we will plan your treatment after assessing your general health. This ensures a lower risk of complications and that your desired results can be fully achieved.
We recommend thigh lift surgery if you have:
- Excess skin, fat, or tissue in the regions of the thigh
- Good physical and mental health
- Good skin elasticity
- Realistic expectations and a positive outlook
- Stable weight
The procedure
You will receive general anaesthesia during the procedure to prevent discomfort. Your surgeon will then create incisions in the marked areas on your thighs. The incision technique will depend on your skin condition and the surgeon’s preferences. To reshape the appearance of your thighs, your surgeon will remove excess skin, fat, or tissue. Once removed, your surgeon will use stitches to close the incisions. A gauze or dressing will be then placed over your surgical wound.
Recovery after a thigh lift
After the procedure, you will experience bruising and swelling on the incision site. These are expected findings and are part of your body’s healing process. To address these discomforts, you may need to take pain relievers and anti-inflammatories. You will also need to wear compression garments to reduce swelling and maintain the new shape of your thighs. To prevent injury to your incision lines, you will need to avoid strenuous activities. You should feel a significant improvement in your symptoms after 2 weeks. During this time, you can notice the results of your surgery.
